When Wes’s niece sent us her Flat Stanley to “show around” Portland, all we had to return was a postcard or picture of him in front of a landmark. I immediately channeled my over-achieving elementary school days and decided to create a book/story with his adventures discovering things in the city. Turned out to be a bit more than I bargined for (couldn’t automate creating a PDF with printer spreads in InDesign CS3), but I think it turned out well for her 2nd grade project. Hope it’s something she holds on to for a while! Take a look at the book here.
